Our busy gastro pub has a grade II listed interior and a warm welcome. We are open for lunch, dinner and bar snacks as well as drinks and cocktails. We are ideally located, by the Tricycle theatre, for a before or after show dinner.

The Black Lion has a magnificent interior, and for whatever reason (if the ceilings are not listed, then they should be), the refurb has left most of the good bits well alone. The bar is dark red with swags and swags of ornate gold plaster work. The dining room is dark green, and has more of the elaborate gilt flourishes. Floors are sanded, chairs are comfortable and the lofty ceilings give the place a spacious feel.' 'Chef Pascal Persigout and his team know their stuff.'
